The Essentials: Skincare
Updated: Sep 22, 2020
As a student who will be going towards an adult job very soon (around a month to be exact), managing my skincare and makeup is going to be a bit tougher than before. So until then, this is my skincare and makeup essentials for now! Not to toot my own horn but I’ve gotten some questions concerning my skincare regimen. I religiously do my skincare routine day and night just so I can maintain polished-ish skin. I have a combination skin type that leans towards oily so I try to buy products that can accommodate my skin, moisturize the dry places, and decrease the oiliness.
Let's do this...
In the morning, I wet my face with warm water and cleanse my face using the ‘COSRX Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser’. This cleanser isn’t too drying or moisturizing so it’s a perfect morning cleanser for me. Plus, it has a low pH level, which keeps your skin healthy and hydrated. At night, I use warm water and the ‘Innisfree Clarifying Facial Foam with Bija Seed Oil’ to cleanse my face. I like to use a stronger cleanser at night so that the properties can work their magic overnight. Occasionally, I’ll use ‘THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Fresh Cleansing Foam’ during the day time.
After cleansing my face, I tone my face with ‘THEFACESHOP Rice & Ceramide Moisturizing Facial Toner’. I don’t have an exact preference for toners since most toners work well with my skin. Usually, I would use the ‘Clean & Clear Persa-Gel 10’ as my acne medication but I’ve been a bit lazy with repurchasing the product. I’ve been using the ‘COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner’ as a replacement for my acne medication. It’s been doing a fine job with controlling my acne so I won’t be buying my acne medication anytime soon. For the record, I do not suffer from horrible acne but I’ll get one or two pimples here and there when the time of the month comes around.
Now, I would love to show you the serums and emulsions I use but I’ve been lazy with repurchasing my staple products so those products will be shown in the later future. I will show you the 2 different sunscreens I use interchangeably. Sunscreen (to me) is the most important step in my skincare regimen. Honestly, sunscreen is probably the reason why people still mistake me as a 16-year-old. So the two sunscreens I own are the ‘Image Skincare Prevention+ Daily Ultimate Protection Moisturizer’ with SPF 50 and the ‘MISSHA All-Around Safe Block Essence Sun Milk’ with SPF 50+. I only use the MISSHA sunscreen in the summer and spring seasons. My Image Skincare sunscreen moisturizer is way too heavy for the warmer seasons so I save that for the colder seasons.
From wash to moisturize these are my skincare essentials. How do you get your glow? Let us know in the comments below and check back Uproar to see more of our essentials that get us through life.
