Eating Clean That's Worth Your Green
Updated: Sep 21
As much as I hate to admit it, I am a total sucker for those super trendy, Insta-worthy, healthy, yet totally overpriced restaurants. I love the fancy pressed juices and lemonades, the vegan substitutes and the feeling of eating not only a healthy meal, but a hearty meal too.
If there’s one thing that stops me from eating out at these types of restaurants, it would most definitely be the steep price point. With more and more healthy restaurants popping up around Dallas, it can be hard to decide which ones are worth the money and which aren't. After testing out many of these restaurants, I have finally decided which are worth the price.
Mudhen Meat and Greens:
Worth your green? 8/10
Located right next to the Dallas Farmers Market, Mudhen guarantees to have fresh and local ingredients. They have a chalkboard wall inside of the restaurant that has a master list of every vegetable you can think of, but you can only order from the veggies that have a check mark next to their name, indicating that it is fresh and in-season. My favorite thing to order is "build my own bowl" where you can choose from the veggies on the chalkboard, grains, proteins, sauces, etc. I won't lie, it can get expensive, but trust me when I say it's worth every penny!
Worth your green? 7/10
Flower Child is a delicious and healthy restaurant with the best vibes. The entire building-inside and out- is decorated with cute murals and insta-worthy walls. They have amazing lemonades, teas, juices and other drinks, as well as food that will make you drool. Whether you are craving a salad, bowl, sandwich or even mac n' cheese, Flower Child will make you feel healthy and satisfied. Another restaurant that makes it way too easy to spend a lot of money, but totally worth it!
Nekter Juice Bar:
Worth your green? 5/10
Okay, let me be clear. I only think that the acaí bowls from Nekter are worth the steep price point. The juices and smoothies... eh. They definitely aren't bad, but it's hard to justify paying almost $10 for a smoothie that isn't out of this world. I know I can make a smoothie at home that I'll enjoy more, but I definitely can NOT make an acaí bowl that tastes as delicious as the bowls from Nekter.
Worth your green? 8/10
The reason I love Salata: unlimited toppings! Salata is so worth the higher price point compared to other salad bar type restaurants because of the option to get as many toppings as your heart desires! In my opinion, the best part of a salad is the stuff that goes in it. I love adding as many veggies as I can get to fit, putting Salata into my list of clean eats that worth the green.
True Food Kitchen:
Worth your green? 10/10
True Food is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. I bring all visitors here because they have something for anyone and everyone. The inside is very earthy and green, but their food options are pretty damn hearty. They have health conscious pizzas, tacos, burgers, pasta, and more delicious options. They also have a wide variety of juices, coffees, smoothies, teas and other drinks to make you feel like a healthy qween.
From one of a kind acaí bowls to creating the salads of your dreams, Dallas has it all. Have any spots you think deserve to be on this list? Let us know in the comments below and stay up to date with all things Uproar and join the revolution at @PeoplesRevolt.
