Brandon Brown: Actor and Inspirer

Updated: Sep 21, 2020

Brandon Brown is an actor on the rise to look out for as he has appeared in a wide variety of commercials, music videos, print ads and skits. He has worked with big brands in many of the commercials he has appeared in, such as Nike, Dominos Pizza, Taco Bell, Geico, and Chase Bank. He has even appeared on The Steve Harvey Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live! He is now a new character on hit TV series Power Book II: Ghost on STARZ.

We had the opportunity to catch up with him to talk about his career, how he got started and some advice, as well as what he hopes for in the future. Brandon is definitely someone you can learn a lot from when it comes to crushing goals and living out your dreams.

Chantel: Hi Brandon, we are very pleased to meet with you and would love for you to fill us in on who you are.

Brandon: Well my name is Brandon Brown, I’m 27, hailing from Buffalo, New York. I graduated from Buffalo State College in 2014 and moved to Los Angeles, California a month later to pursue my dreams of becoming an actor.

Chantel: What made you get into acting?

Brandon: I got into acting by watching and admiring my idols Will Smith and Denzel Washington, which also happen to be, in my opinion, the best actors there are. Growing up, I always admired Denzel’s acting abilities and seeing someone that looked like me made me believe I can do it too.

Chantel: What do you enjoy most and least about acting?

Brandon: I enjoy bringing multiple characters to life and putting my own into them. What I dislike about acting is having to audition dozens and dozens of times before booking a role and how competitive it is.

Chantel: You’ve had so many projects, but we would love to know, which one is your favorite?

Brandon: My favorite project would have to be either the Nike commercial, where I played a younger version of Lebron James or the Charlie Wilson music video that I just did. It was probably the most fun I had. I was able to work with a legend like Wilson and it was a great experience and we all laughed and had a great time.

Chantel: What’s some advice you would give someone wanting to pursue a dream such as the one you are currently living?

Brandon: The advice I would give is, never let success get to your head and never let failure get to your heart.

Chantel: What are your plans for the future?

Brandon: My plans for the future are to settle down, get married, have kids and work on art. I plan on doing art and painting to pass the time and have some exhibitions. I also plan to be a series regular on a TV show and get a leading role in a movie.

Chantel: Last question before we wrap this up, what’s next on your bucket list? Brandon: I don’t really have a bucket list. I just want to be able to provide for my family, buy my mom a house, take care of my siblings and inspire people.
