Boozy Bells and Tipsy Turkeys: Cocktails for the Holidays

Deck the halls with balls of bubbly! It is almost the time of year that calls for turkey, family time, holly, and egg nog (spiked of course). Every time the holidays come around it is survival of the fittest when it comes to family gatherings. Sometimes you need a little extra push to get through the interrogations - we mean dinners - of the holiday season. We're here to help with that!

Thanksgiving Margarita



Who said margaritas are just for summertime? Add little cinnamon and apple cider to instantly transform your go-to summer drink into a fall favorite.


Serves 1

2 oz of pear juice

1 lime (or simple syrup)

1 cinnamon stick bunch.

2 oz of 100% apple cider

1 1/2 oz of gold tequila

1 oz of Grand Mariner or orange liqueur


Pour a 1/4″ layer of salt on a small plate. Run a lime along the rim of your cocktail glass, turn the glass upside down and gently press the rim into salt. (You can also use simple syrup, if you have this on hand, to get the salt to stick to the glass.) Scoop ice into the glass so that it is about 3/4 of the way full and squeeze the rest of your lime wedge over the ice. Combine liquid ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. Strain ice, pour, and finish with a whole cinnamon stick.



Pumpkin White Russian

What's Thanksgiving without a little pumpkin spice? Satisfy your pumpkin obsession with a modern twist on a classic drink.


Serves 1

4 tbsp Kahlua

3 tbsp pumpkin spice coffee sreamer

2 tbsp Vodka

3 tsp pumpkin puree

pumpkin pie spice


In a shaker, combine the Kahlua, pumpkin pie spice, vodka, and pumpkin puree. Shake well, then pour over ice. Add a dash of pumpkin pie spice



Apple Cider Sangria

There's nothing more American in the fall time than some fresh apple pie and there's nothing more refreshing than a nice glass of sangria. We're mixing the two to make a perfect holiday pairing.


Multiple Servings

1 tart apple, like granny smith, cored and diced into 1" pieces

1 sweet apple, like Honeycrisp, cored and diced into 1" pieces

1 cup fresh cranberries, or pomegranate seeds

1 cinnamon stick, plus more for garnish

1/2 c simple syrup, or 1/4 cup white sugar

1 c unsweetened apple cider

1/2 c apple brandy

1/2 c triple sec

1 bottle dry white wine, like sauvignon blanc

1/4 c cinnamon sugar, for garnish


Combine fresh cranberries with diced apples and a cinnamon stick in a pitcher. Add simple syrup (or sugar) to the fruit and gently muddle with a wooden spoon. Add the apple cider, apple brandy, trip sec, and white wine. Stir then chill and marinate for at least 4 hours (overnight is best).



Ole Smoky Apple Ginger

Did someone say MOONSHINE? Oh, we did. If you are looking for something with a kick, this is the drink for you. It's for those who enjoy the simpler things in life.


Serves 1

2.5 oz. Ole Smoky® Apple Pie Moonshine

2.5 oz. ginger ale

fresh apple slice (optional)


Mix ingredients in a glass, pour over ice, garnish with a fresh apple, and enjoy!


Harvest Mule Punch

Nothing like a mule for the yuletide season! What makes it better? The fact that it's served like punch meaning the more, the merrier.


Multiple Servings

1-gallon apple cider

1 bottle of sparkling wine (champagne or prosecco)

12 ounces of ginger beer

1 cup vodka

2-3 sliced apples


Get a large punch bowl or beverage dispenser and add all the above ingredients. Stir and adjust the taste. You may want more cider, wine and of course vodka! Garnish the glasses with oranges, cinnamon sticks, or more sliced apples.


Rudolph's Tipsy Spritzer

We knew there was a reason Rudolph was Santa's favorite. Some say it's the red nose, but we say it's this red cocktail. Lead the way Rudolph, we've got this drink in hand.


2 ½ cups orange juice, chilled

2 cups vodka (chilled)

2 ½ cranberry juice, chilled

juice of one large lemon

2 cups Ginger ale, 7UP or Sprite, chilled

Rosemary sprigs

1/2 cup maraschino cherry juice, chilled

juice of one cranberries or maraschino cherries and (optional garnish)


In a larger pitcher or punch bowl combine all of the ingredients (leave out vodka if you want a non-alcoholic version), stir well. Serve over ice and garnish with cranberries or maraschino cherries and a rosemary sprig.



Christmas Margarita

Feliz Navidad indeed when you bring the tequila to your holiday party! Here is a sweet margarita for an early Christmas gift everyone will love.


Serves 1

3 ounces cranberry juice

1 oz lime juice

1 oz triple sec or orange liqueur

2 oz tequila

garnish: lime slice, orange slice, cranberries, rosemary


Rim a cocktail glass with either salt or sugar. Add all ingredients to a shaker, shake well. Strain into a glass with ice, garnish, and enjoy!


Grinch Cocktail

You're a mean one Mr. Grinch, but we will let it slide since this cocktail is so good! Take a chill pill and enjoy this cocktail, while watching the holiday favorite.


Multiple Servings

4 oz Peach Schnapps

4 oz Bacardi Rum (I use the citrus rum, but any variety works)

12 oz orange juice

4 oz lemon-lime pop (7Up or Sprite work great)

4 oz Blue Curacao liquor

maraschino cherries and orange slices, for garnish, optional


You can make this in individual glasses (4) or make a pitcher. Add all the ingredients together, stir, and add garnish. If desired, add more lemon-lime pop if the drink is too strong, but is that really possible?


Gingerbread White Russian

Gingerbread houses and gingerbread cookies are nothing but nostalgia during the Christmas season. Dip your poorly decorated gingerbread cookie in this White Russian for double the pleasure, and double the fun!


Serves 1


4 tbsp Kahlua

3 tbsp milk or half-&-half

1 ½ tbsp vanilla vodka

1/4 tsp. ground ginger

1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

small pinch ground cloves

small pinch ground nutmeg


Place vodka, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg in a cocktail glass; stir until combined. Add Kahlua and then milk; stir. Add ice and garnish with a cinnamon stick or gingerbread cookie, if desired.


Jack Frost Frozen Cocktails

The weather outside is frightful, but this Jack Frost Frozen Cocktail is delightful! This super fun and on-brand cocktail is perfect to sip on when the family drama gets a little TOO hot to handle over a holiday dinner.


Serves 2

corn syrup

shredded coconut

1 cup pineapple juice

1/2 cup blue curacao

1/2 cup vodka or rum, depending on your preference

1/2 cup cream of coconut


To a small flat plate, add a thin layer of corn syrup. On another plate, spread a layer of shredded coconut. Dip the rim of each glass in the corn starch and then press down into the coconut. Blend the ice, pineapple juice, blue curacao, vodka, and cream of coconut until the mixture's completely smooth. Add more ice, depending on the desired consistency. Pour the mixture into the prepared glasses, and serve immediately with a straw for sipping.
